3 Ways to Get Satan Running

Have you ever been on a roller coaster ride? I once went on one at a funfair, but it was the only time I rode on one because I couldn’t take the crazy up, down and spinning motion. I felt out of control and just wanted to get off. I was thrilled when that ride finally came to an end.

Perhaps your spiritual life feels like that roller coaster ride did to me. It seems like you are being tossed to and fro by the enemy and you are not on stable ground. 

Satan loves to mess with you and make you think that you are not going to come right. He loves trying to tell you that your health and your finances are getting worse and that everything is doomed. But he is a liar, and like that roller coaster ride, it will not last forever. You WILL get the victory. 

Today I want to tell you about three simple ways to stop Satan from causing havoc in your life and blocking the answers to your prayers. Let’s look at them quickly.

Number 1: Resist Him

James 4:7 says, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. This is such a simple verse and has such power in it, but I think many believers don’t use it enough. 

First thing in the morning when I wake up, I commit myself to the Lord and push Satan back for the day. I resist him and any attack that he has planned for our lives, just so that he knows he cannot have his way in our lives. I do the same thing in the evening. 

Yes, he will often still try to mess with you. But if you hit him with this Scripture over and over again, he will begin to get the message.

Number 2: Speak the Word

Hitting Satan with the Word is also very powerful. And when you do it the way Jesus did it when He was being tempted by Satan in the Wilderness after His baptism, he will begin to get moving. 

The Scripture says that when Satan came with his temptations, Jesus countered it by saying, “It is written…” then He would hit him with the Word. I have learned from my own experience that when you do this, Satan gets his running shoes on fast at that moment. 

He is, however, a little deaf. And even though you have chased him away, he will try and come back again to get you defeated once more. You need to lay it on him again and again, until as with resisting him, he gets the message. 

The other powerful thing about using the Word is that it gets the angels mobilised and they begin to fight on your behalf. They listen to those Scripture promises from the Word and join forces with you again Satan. The good news is that there are more angels fighting with you than there are demonic forces trying to stop your blessing. 

So, how many promises do you know? I’m sure you know at least a few that you can hit Satan with to get him moving. If not, get into the Word, read it and make a note of the promises that stand out to you. 

Then speak the words, “It is written…” and hit him with one of those promises. Each time you do that, you are pushing him one step back, and you are one step closer to victory. 

Number 3: Praise the Lord

The final thing you can do is to praise the Lord. Praise puts the control back into the Lord’s hands, and it gives Him free rein to move on your behalf. Satan cannot abide hearing you praising the Lord and it gets him running fast! 

Why is this? Because it takes your eyes off the problem and puts it squarely into the Lord’s hands. You trust Him with all your heart and can be assured that He will not let you down. 

You may not see immediately results by doing these three things. Your circumstances may need to change, or situations need to be put into place. But one thing you can be sure of. The Lord and the angels are getting involved in your situation and your victory will come speedily. 

It will be like a car that suddenly kicks from normal mode into turbo mode. It suddenly flies down the road and nothing can stop it from reaching its destination fast. 

Don’t give up. Keep these things in mind and push on through. Soon you will see the answers and you will rejoice in the Lord.
