Answer in Progress
“Wow, I have finally received my answer to prayer from the Lord!”
How many times have you said that sort of thing in the past? Maybe you have said it recently because you have received an answer to prayer that seemed to be taking a long time to come.
I understand that this can be very frustrating. You wait and wait and never seem to see the answer coming. So, what do you do? Do you give up and think that it is all a waste of time?
Perhaps you feel like this right now. But I want you to know that you need to keep on going because the answer is coming. The Lord has not forsaken you, and He is working with the angels to bring about what you desire.
I remember going on a long drive once. I think we were going on holiday and it was really hot. The landscape that we were travelling through was arid, dry, and very boring. Suddenly, I saw what looked like a pool of water ahead in the distance. It looked so inviting. I got all excited and said to the person driving,
“Oh, now that looks good! Maybe we can stop there and dip our feet into the water.”
I kept watching that beautiful pool of water, and I thought we would soon get there. But then I realized that it was just an illusion. It was a mirage because as we drove, that mirage kept the same distance away from us.
I kept my eyes focused on that picture of the beautiful pool of water. Suddenly, however, we did come across a real pool of water and some beautiful, shady trees. We could get out and stretch our legs, cool off, and enjoy the real thing.
Maybe what you are praying for seems like that mirage right now. It seems like an illusion that never gets any closer. But keep your eyes on that end goal. Because just like we suddenly saw a real pool of water, so your answer will suddenly manifest. And when that happens, it will be a wonderful blessing for you.
Galatians 6:9 says,
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in the proper [kairos] time we will reap, if we do not faint. {GBMV}
This Scripture, of course, refers to doing good works. You might wonder why I am including it in an article about getting answers to prayer. But in this context, I think we can change it slightly and say this.
And let us not be weary in keeping our trust in the Lord: for in the proper [kairos] time we will receive the answer, if we do not lose heart.
Know that the Lord is working to bring you the answer. But there may be things that need to be done that will take a bit of time. The Lord, however, works to a perfect schedule and will always answer you as you keep your faith in the field and trust in Him.
Depending on what you are believing for, the answer may take months to manifest. But know that each day is getting nearer to the manifestation of what you have been believing for. You are indeed making progress.
I hope I have encouraged you to keep on going. Hang in there and don’t give up, even if you see no sign of the breakthrough, because it IS coming!
In His love,
