Shut the Door to Fear

When I was a little girl, and even up until my early twenties, I was always plagued with fear about being kidnapped. It was crazy, and I am not sure where this fear came from.

Perhaps, when I was very small, my parents shared a scary story of someone being kidnapped. I don’t remember any such event, but obviously my spirit picked it up.

Because of this fear, whenever I walked home from school, I would always glance behind me all the time. And if someone was following me that I didn’t like the look of, I would cross to the other side until they were gone. How stupid and erratic that was. But that is how fear works.

Fear is a terrible weapon that doesn’t come from the Lord. It comes from Satan. And when he attacks you, his desire is to stop you from living life to the full, which is what the Lord wants you to have.

Satan will often try and attack you with fear when it comes to your health. You might go to bed feeling full of life the evening before. But when you get up the next day, you are feeling terrible physically.

And then, to make things worse, your mind is under attack too. You maybe feel araid of what is wrong with you, and you might feel depressed.

It looks like Satan has won, doesn’t it? But he hasn’t. He has simply tried to take your eyes off the Lord, and become introspective. But here is a Scripture that can change all this. Isaiah 26:3 says,

You will keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind has been placed [on you]: because he trusts you.

When you feel afraid and overwhelmed with cares, it is time to take action. Submit yourself to the Lord, then rebuke Satan and tell him to leave.

He is a liar, so whatever he is trying to make you afraid about is wrong. Then fix your eyes on the Lord Jesus. See Him standing with you, and feel His peace and assurance coming into your life.

My Prayer

That usually works if you know that you have authority over Satan. But, sometimes you may still feel overwhelmed and cannot get the victory. That is when you need someone to stand with you.

So I want to stand in the gap and pray for your victory over whatever fear Satan is attacking you with. Let me pray with you now.

“Satan, I command you to take your hands off the person who is reading this. You are a liar, and you cannot tell the truth. So, in the name of Jesus, I command you to bow your knee and be removed.

Take your lies and go back to hell, where you belong! And now, in the name of Jesus, I speak peace to you in place of that fear.”

The Lord Jesus is standing right there with you. He is ready to take your hand, raise you up and give you the victory.

“Thank you, Lord, that you are the greater one who lives inside of us. You have crushed Satan under Your feet, and because of that we can now have victory over him. Thank you for doing this, Lord.”

Today, may you walk in victory over Satan, as you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.
