Share Away

Have you ever had this experience? You want to share something with someone, but nobody seems to care about listening? You may have been excited, or maybe you were stressed about something. Whatever the case, when you tried to share it, no-one seemed to be interested.

It can be very frustrating when something like this happens. I know what I am talking about here, because I have experienced it. It happened many years ago when my first husband died. Whenever I tried to share with someone what had taken place in my life, most people just didn’t seem interested in listening. Either that, or they said,

“Shame, shame.”

Then they got on with their busy lives. Boy did I feel lonely! Eventually I just stopped trying to share anything and tried to keep going. The trouble was, it was building up inside of me and I felt very depressed.

Well, that all changed when I met my wonderful husband, Les Crause. When we met and he found out that I had been widowed, he asked me one day to share with him what had happened. That blew my mind. Someone was asking me to share?

Well, share I did. I let out everything that had built up inside. It brought back many painful memories at first, but when I was done, it set me free in a wonderful way.

If you are feeling like this today and nobody seems to care, I want to tell you that the Lord Jesus does care. He is like my husband was to me when I shared with him that day. And unlike people who are often too busy with their lives, He wants you to pour your heart out to Him.

The Lord taught me this a long time ago when I wrote my book called Praying With Power.  One of the basic things that I encourage people to do is to share everything with the Lord. If nobody wants to listen to you, you have a listening ear right there.

Something unexpected happened a few days ago. I was praying for someone, and I ended up sharing my heart with the Lord about the person. They were going through a hard time, and I found myself talking to the Lord and asking Him to reach out and touch the one I was praying for. Then it moved to someone else, and I just ‘talked the Lord’s ear off’, as the saying goes.

I ended up sharing my heart with the Lord for quite a long time. I shared with Him like I would share with a good friend, not formally or in high language. It was a wonderful experience, and I felt the Lord’s love flowing through me.

What About You?

What are things like with you? If you have nobody to talk to, why not talk to the Lord? Imagine Him with you, and begin to share everything with Him: how you feel, if you are angry, frustrated, concerned or happy. You might hear Him speaking back gently and encouraging you. Or He might start to given you direction.

I encourage you to give this a try if you haven’t done something like this before. Or if you know about it and have slipped back from doing this, why not get back to it? You will be richly blessed in return.
