Hide Away

Psalm 91:4 says this.

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge and protection: his truth [will be both your] protection and defence (large and smaller shield). [GBMV]

Have you ever seen a hen with her chicks? It is beautiful to watch her with her babies and the way she protects them. 

My family and I saw this in reality once. We went to visit a little tea garden out in the country, and at that place they also had like a mini farm with a few animals and birds in enclosures. 

After a little snack, we began to walk around and look at the animals. There, we saw an enclosure with a couple of hens with fluffy legs and quite a number of little babies running around. 

Some kids were making a noise or doing something nearby that upset the mother. Suddenly, she opened her wings so that they became like a canopy, and all the babies ran under them. Then she closed her wings and tucked them into safety.

I thought it was such an adorable picture in the natural. But the Lord wants to do the same thing for you in the spiritual. He wants to keep you close and protect you from the enemy’s attack out there.

We were recently praying for someone who was going through a hard time and needed ministry. During the time that my husband was ministering, I kept seeing that picture of the mother hen and her chicks. Afterwards, the Lord confirmed what I had been seeing because He called that person to come into that loving relationship with Him where he would be safe from harm.

You Need to Do Something

How can you make this a reality in your life? It is so easy. You just need to come daily into His presence and fellowship with Him. You need to tell Him how much you love Him and make Him a part of everything that you do in your life. 

When you do this, the Lord will be like that mother hen protecting her chicks. If any enemy tries to get to her babies, she will keep them safe from harm. Then, she will attack the enemy and push him back. 

Don’t be like a rebellious child who thinks they are big, they don’t need you, and they can do whatever they want. They will soon become a target for the enemy and could get into danger. 

Take the Lord’s hand daily. Let Him love you, protect you, and keep you safe. Then, whatever you do for Him will be blessed and prosperous. And then you can walk in peace, knowing that the Lord has your back.

May you walk in the blessing of the Lord today and into the future, as you keep close to Him.
