In a Transition
I have recently been reading the story of Noah. I’m sure everyone knows about this story of the ark and the flood. But do you realize how long he, his family and the animals were in the ark for?
It rained for something like 5 months solid. Then there was a long time after the rain stopped, when the waters abated and the land dried out. In the end they were in the ark for about 11 months.
That is one long time to be cooped up like that! As I thought about that, I wondered if Noah ever become frustrated and wondered when that whole thing would end. He may have felt that he was stuck, going round and round in circles and going nowhere.
There is, however, one good thing about Noah’s story. When that time was over, he could step into a brand new land that the Lord was giving him. The Lord also gave him the promise of the rainbow which was a sign of blessing.
Perhaps you have felt like this in your spiritual life. You have felt like you are stuck. You can’t see where you are going and you may feel restricted. What could be going on?
If this is how you are feeling, this is what the Lord wants to say to you today.
“My child, you are not stuck and you have not failed. You may think that everything has come to a halt and that you are of no use to Me in My Kingdom. But My child, you are merely going through a transition as I begin to lead you into something new.
You are as a caterpillar in the cocoon that is transitioning into a beautiful butterfly. So just rest in Me, says the Lord, and let me complete this process in you. Soon you will be able to come out of that cocoon. You will see where I am leading you, and you can spread your wings and soar into this new and greater thing that I have for you.”
So what is happening in your spiritual life right now? If you feel restricted and like you are going nowhere, lift up your head and rejoice. It could just be that you are in that transition and the Lord has something greater for you. Rest in Him and He will show you where to go and what to do.
Many blessings to you.
