The Beauty Queen

One of my favorite books of the Bible is the book of Esther! I just love how the story unfolds, of finding a new queen for King Ahasuerus after the other queen failed him. I love how they found Esther and brought her into the palace with the other beautiful women. 

They were already all beautiful. But what amazed me was that they still went through a whole year’s worth of beauty treatments to make them even better. It says that they had six months of oil of myrrh and six months of perfumes and cosmetics. They must have been even more stunning at the end of that period. 

I remember the first time I ever went to a spa to have a facial. Perhaps I am unique, but I really didn’t enjoy it and didn’t think it did much to improve what I looked like. Perhaps if I had had a daily treatment, like those potential queens, it would have made a difference. 

A Different Outlook

Right now you may not feel like a beauty queen. As a woman you may look at yourself and think you are so ugly. Perhaps you are a guy, and you do not think you are handsome and you may not like your looks. 

But the Lord does not look on you from a natural point of view. He looks at you spiritually and sees your heart. And to Him, every heart that loves Him is beautiful. 

As believers, it is so easy for us to look at others and to judge them. As humans somehow the natural always comes first and we like or dislike someone from the way they look. But the Lord never looks at the physical. He looks at something deeper and more important. 

This is what the Lord wants to say to you today. 

“My child you are so special to Me. This is because you have given your heart to Me and you have been changed into something new and beautiful. I do not see you as everybody else sees you. I see you as My special creation that is as beautiful as Queen Esther was to King Ahasuerus.

For My child your spirit is the most important thing in your spiritual life. This is because your spirit is what keeps you living and moving in Me, and I never make anything that is sub-standard or imperfect. 

When I look on you I see how beautiful you are. For just you loving Me and being a part of My family is what makes you this way. You are part of My spiritual royal family that rules and reigns with Me in the heavenly realm. 

So let the things of the world go. Let the natural things fall by the wayside and concentrate more on the things of the Spirit. For when you do this you will rise up in power in Me. Then people will look at you and they will see My glory shining through you and radiating outwards. And then they will sit up and take notice when you speak in My power and authority.

Know that you are beautiful in My eyes this day. And as you keep your eyes on Me you will continue to grow and rise up in power. Then like a king and queen in the natural, you will rule over the forces of darkness and make an impact on this world for good,” says the Lord.

Today may you know how special you are to the Lord. And may you have a day of victory as you rule and reign with Him.
